It's almost Show Time!! "Night at the Oscars" is fast approaching, so just a few reminders of what's happening over the next few weeks. There will be no classes the week of May 10th to May 15th, only Dress Rehearsals and then Shows on the weekend - May 15th&May 16th.
DRESS REHEARSALS:
Ridge Studio: Tuesday, May 11th at the Bell Performing Arts Centre.
Fleetwood Studio: Wednesday, May 12th at the Bell Performing Arts Centre.
**Please check schedules for your times** Schedules can be found on the Website, in the Waiting Rooms, and with your Registration Packages that were sent in the mail. Dress Rehearsal night is tightly scheduled. It is so important that we keep to the schedule. Please make sure your child is there 10 minutes prior to their scheduled time so that they can be backstage and ready to dance at the appropriate time. Full costume is to be worn and hair and makeup is to be done.
SHOW TIMES: All shows are at the Bell Performing Arts Centre. Please have children there at least 30 minutes early.
Ridge Saturday Matinee: May 15th @ 1:30 pm
Fleetwood Saturday Evening: May 15th @ 6:00 pm
Ridge Sunday Evening: May 16th @ 5:30 pm
VOLUNTEERS
Information will be given out to those of you who have graciously offered your help, at the Dress Rehearsals. Please be sure to check in with Sandi, outside the Backstage door, to pick up your instruction sheet regarding your show duties.
Tickets will be avaible for sale at Dress Rehearsals and at the Door on Show Day. ** Cash or Cheque only.**
"Night at the Oscars" T-shirts are in and selling fast! T-shirts are available for $14.95 plus tax and all proceeds go towards our Scholarship Fund. What a great keepsake for the students!
For your convenience, we will have flowers for sale at the Show that you are able to purchase for your wonderful dancer! Proceeds from these sales go towards our Scholarship Fund. Your support is greatly appreciated!
PARKING - Parking at the theatre can sometimes get quite full. There is an additional parking lot for the school/theatre that is located behind the school on 146th Street. Please consider using this parking lot as an alternative to help ease the congestion in the main lot. It is a very short walk to the lobby area.
Couple of things to note:
Parents are not resposible for changing their child's costume during the show. We have parent volunteers who will assist with this so that you can sit and enjoy your child's Recital without having to run backstage to get them ready for their next dance.
Parents are not allowed into the Dressing Room area once the show has begun. This is for the security of your children. Once they have been checked in by one of our parent volunteers, they will remain in the dressing room area for the duration of the show. They will not be able to leave during Intermission, nor will we have parents wandering into the dressing room area at this time. We hope that you will understand that this is for the safety and security of your children and that you will respect our policy.
Please ensure that any items your child brings to the show has their name clearly written on them - shoes, jacket, water bottle, back packs, make-up bag, costume pieces. This will ensure that anything that happens to get left behind will get returned to them.
LAST CLASSES
We will have regular classes the week of May 17th - May 21st, but no classes on Saturday May 22 or Monday, May 24th for the Victoria Day long weekend.
**Last day of classes will be Monday, May 31st.**
JUNE CLASSES
June classes will begin on Monday, June 7th and continue through to Monday, June 28th. June classes are a great time to try a new dance style or to keep up your technique prior to summer break. Call the office to register.
PANORAMA YOUTH COMPANY 2010/2011
This group of young&enthusiastic students will join our performance troupe in the coming year. The students will have to be enrolled in ballet and jazz, in addition to the PYC classes, which is strictly a choreography class. There will be a meeting on Friday, June 11th @ 5:30 pm at the Ridge Studio, for those of you interested in this exciting program.
PICNIC
The End of the Year Picnic will be on Friday, June 4th from 4:30 - 6:30 pm at Fleetwood Park (80th Ave. between 156th and 160th Street). Pack your picnic dinner and join your Panorama Dance friends for an evening of fun and games!
Lost and Found
Please check out the changing room area and the Lost & Found bins for any articles your child may be missing before the end of the dance year.
**All character skirts should now be taken home if they are still here!**
